Renmore!! Come on!! Let do something to really help people this chistmas and make a difference

A number of parishioners have suggested that we do something as a parish for Christmas  to help the poorest of the poor. There’s a number of ways we can do this… Support St. V. de P Society door to door collection to help the needy in our own city and abroad we will endeavour to  help the work of Trocaire in 2 ways.

  1. 1. Buy Goats (sourced locally in Africa) to help needy families.

Trocaire says:  Your thoughtful gift of a goat can do much more than provide food and an income for a family in need.Your gift is one that can last generations. The offspring from your gift can be passed to other families in the region, uniting communities torn apart by war.

The income earned from a goat helps to improve a family’s diet, pay for education, provide healthcare and provide a sense of empowerment.

  1. 2. Send some money to the House of  Hope and Love in Nakuru,Kenya . Fr Tom visited there recently and was touched and impressed with the care and love this Centre  gives to the most destitute and lonely people suffering from health issues,(including HIV AIDS and cancer) They feel unwanted by anyone. Left to live or die alone. The driving force behind this project is Sr. Patricia from Belfast. They identify people who have no one and they become someone for them. A life long loving presence.

To enable us to make this special Christmas gift to the poor, all next Sunday’s (Dec 12th/13th) Collections will go to this cause. Think about it. Pray about it and consider giving something extra  and we will divide the money between these two projects. . It wont solve the world’s problems  but it will do some good for someone. As Mother Teresa said. Do something small with great love.

We would welcome the support of local  or city businesses or individuals to join us in this christmas project.goats
