A number of issues were discussed at the most recent meeting>

Two members of Alzheimer’s Ireland attended to tell us of their work and that they hope to have a drop -in day for carers or family members in the Renmore area in the near future. You will be updated as we get the information.

1. Parish Census.  Volunteers from around the parish picked up Census Forms and many will have  left one in to your homes already. Please return as soon as possible. The generosity of all volunteers is much appreciated as well as your own co-operation in this project.

2. The Grotto. Fr. Tom brought it to the attention of the council that some people have expressed a view that the building of the Grotto on the area facing the Hospice wouldn’t be their choice. After some discussion the PPC agreed unanimously  to stay with the original plan to build the Grotto in that area. This project is taking place in conjunction with the Parish Finance Council. Thanks to many of you for making generous contributions to this project. The collection came to €1,200. Any further contributions will be kindly accepted.

3. A community Mass of Thanksgiving. Plans are underway to have a community mass on May 23rd at 6pm to give thanks for the variety of gifts that have developed here over the past 40 years. Church groups and community clubs and groups will be contacted in the near future with a view of planning this special celebration.
