New roof and window

In 1975, The Connact Tribune reported that: Galway’s most modern and one of the city’s most striking churches was blessed and opened.

This year we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the building of the church in Renmore. It was a great achievement by the people of  Renmore who contributed generously and made many sacrifices to see this project completed..

The Parish Pastoral Council have earmarked  October as the month on which they will officially mark the anniversary.

In the meantime, in collaboration with the Finance Council and many others, they will carry out a new census of the parish during Lent as a way of connecting with new and old residents and insuring that everyone in the parish geographical area know that they are always welcome in the parish.

There’s a plan for a community mass, possibly in May, that brings together all groups and organizations in the parish to celebrate the contribution that they have made and continue to make to the area.

On February 7th HABEMUS CHOIR from Dublin will perform a concert in the church. Claire Quinn, the rising star  from Renmore and winner of last year’s All Schools Singing Competition will join them to perform a few pieces of music.

As its just a week before Valentine’s Day, all young couples  from around the city, engaged to be married, are encouraged to attend, and  Fr. Tom will bless their rings and pray for their  future happiness. A similar blessing will be  offered to all  those celebrating a wedding anniversary with special emphasis on  those that got married 40 years ago. Please get in touch with the parish office if you’d like to be included. Tickets costing €10 will be available from the church and office and local outlets in the coming week.

On February 28th, the Annual Parish Social will take place in the Menlo Park Hotel.

Again the tickets cost €10 and will be available from members of the Parish Social committee after masses in the next few weeks and from the Parish Office.
